| VP Sales and Marketing VP SALES AND MARKETING DOWCO, Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of power sports OEM, power sports aftermarket and recreational marine products with headquarters in Manitowoc, WI. In order to offer power sports and marine accessories of uncompromising quality and value, we work directly with manufacturers, distributors and/or dealers to design, pattern, prototype, and create new products and improve existing selections. SUMMARY Assist in developing, planning and accomplishing corporate strategic goals. Provide leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing functions and personnel. Develop and implement sales and marketing strategy. Monitor and analyze sales and marketing activity against goals. Forecast future growth with existing customers through new product and marketing development. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions. 2. Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology. 3. Direct and oversee the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services. 4. Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development. 5. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results. 6. Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets. 7. Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts. 8. Participate in the development of new project proposals. 9. Establish and implement short-term and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operation procedures. 10. Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials. 11. Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company. 12. Supervise the preparation, issuance and delivery of sales materials, exhibits and promotion programs 13. Promote positive relations with partners, vendors and distributors. 14. Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations. 15. Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company. 16. Establish and implement short-term and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. 17. Serve on planning and policy-making committees. 18. Travel as frequently as necessary to regularly meet with customers and further company/customer initiatives. 19. Lead the marketing department in keeping all web sites current and up to date. Work with appropriate inside and outside contacts as often as necessary to increase traffic to all company web sites. 20. Other duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts. 2. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. 3. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Master’s Degree in Marketing and ten years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position. 4. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as necessary. WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Manage multiple projects in a timely and cost conscious manner. Lead and actively participate in lean manufacturing activities. Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges and quality problems in a timely and professional manner. Use ISO 9001 procedures and guidelines to develop and document new and existing methods/processes, and train personnel to those methods/processes. Accountable for accurate bill of materials, project spending, meeting timelines, completing goals and objectives and financial justification of assigned projects. The positive outcomes needed are improvements in manufacturing processes, reduced overall cost of manufacturing and implementation of new methods and machines. | Prototype Specialist PROTOTYPE SPECIALIST PROFILE: DOWCO, Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of power sports OEM, power sports aftermarket and recreational marine products. In order to offer power sports and marine accessories of uncompromising quality and value, we work directly with manufacturers and dealers to design, pattern, prototype, and create new products and improve existing selections. The primary result expected from the Prototype Specialist will be developing layout; marine product designs; forming materials. The Prototype Specialist will participate in our quality control process. The Prototype Specialist must communicate with co-workers and supervisors to solve process and product problems and accurately record information. TASKS PROFILE: Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: 1. Draws outline of pattern parts, using drafting instruments such as calipers, squares, and straight and curved rules. 2. Draws lines between reference points, producing outline of graded pattern. 3. Traces outline of specified pattern onto material and cuts fabric, using scissors. 4. Examines sketches or sample articles and design specifications to ascertain number, shape, and size of pattern parts. 5. Marks finished pattern with size, section, and style information. 6. Positions pattern sections onto model form and discusses style lines, details, and revisions with designer. 7. Lays out large patterns on floor and cuts material, according to markings. 8. Makes drawings of patterns, and writes instructions for use in reproducing commercial patterns. 9. Computes dimensions of pattern according to size, considering stretching of material, and measures and marks pattern. 10. Positions master pattern in clamp of grading device, places paperboard under pattern, sets device to specified size, and marks reference points. 11. Performs final product fit and performs trouble shooting activities. 12. Will need sewing skills to build prototypes. 13. Travel is required and work in outside conditions. |
