Product Development Technician
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Assists in requirements analysis and definition of functional specifications for new products.
2. Develops patterns by forming materials, & use of digitizing equipment and CAD/CAM software, Solidworks.
3. Creates CAD drawings of patterns, and writes instructions for use in reproducing commercial patterns.
4. Plans and establishes sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization. Develops specifications, production labor and material cost for use in sales planning and customer quotes.
5. Products prototypes and coordinates pilot production runs with manufacturing personnel.
6. Manages multi-task projects including testing, documentation, report presentation, and manufacturing procedures.
7. Interfaces with and provides product training to external customers.
8. Performs final product fit and trouble shooting activities.
9. Travel is required and person must be able to work in outdoor conditions.

Requirements:
Eduction and training: Associates Degree with Bachelor's degree a plus; work experience in product development would be a plus.

Computers:
Knowledge of computer hardward and software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Syteline, applications.

Customer and personal services:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Manufacturing Engineer
MANUFACTURING ENGINEER--MARINE PROFILE:
DOWCO, Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of power sports OEM, power sports aftermarket and recreational marine products. In order to offer power sports and marine accessories of uncompromising quality and value, we work directly with manufacturers and dealers to design, pattern, prototype, and create new products and improve existing selections.

The primary result expected from the Manufacturing Engineer--Marine will be studying product and manufacturing methods. The Manufacturing Engineer--Marine will participate in our quality control process. The Manufacturing Engineer--Marine must communicate with co-workers and supervisors to solve process and product problems and accurately record information.

TASKS PROFILE:

Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
2. Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
3. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
4. Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
5. Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
6. Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
7. Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
8. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
9. Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
10. Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
Prototype Specialist
PROTOTYPE SPECIALIST PROFILE:

The primary result expected from the Prototype Specialist will be developing layout; marine product designs; forming materials. The Prototype Specialist will participate in our quality control process. The Prototype Specialist must communicate with co-workers and supervisors to solve process and product problems and accurately record information.

TASKS PROFILE:

Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Draws outline of pattern parts, using drafting instruments such as calipers, squares, and straight and curved rules.
2. Draws lines between reference points, producing outline of graded pattern.
3. Traces outline of specified pattern onto material and cuts fabric, using scissors.
4. Examines sketches or sample articles and design specifications to ascertain number, shape, and size of pattern parts.
5. Marks finished pattern with size, section, and style information.
6. Positions pattern sections onto model form and discusses style lines, details, and revisions with designer.
7. Lays out large patterns on floor and cuts material, according to markings.
8. Makes drawings of patterns, and writes instructions for use in reproducing commercial patterns.
9. Computes dimensions of pattern according to size, considering stretching of material, and measures and marks pattern.
10. Positions master pattern in clamp of grading device, places paperboard under pattern, sets device to specified size, and marks reference points.
11. Performs final product fit and performs trouble shooting activities.
12. Will need sewing skills to build prototypes.
13. Travel is required and work in outside conditions.
